I'm Jen, a 32 year old RN with a 3 year old boy. I have a wonderful fiancé and a huge family. On the surface, those few sentences make it seem like my life is fantastic. And while I am tremendously lucky, I warn you that I've been battling depression for over 10 years now and I do frequently talk about it. I'm also struggling with my religious beliefs and I'm not sure if I can fully be an atheist or if I am more agnostic with spiritual leanings. I talk about that from time to time but I usually put it behind a cut because I realize religion is a touchy subject.

I love writing, have been doing is since I was 11, and hope to one day publish. Like most would-be writers, it's taking me forever to focus on actually finishing something. I talk about that a lot too.

Though my interests have waned, I do like Anime and roleplaying games. A great deal of my writing for the past ten years has been on the internet with a great group of people that helped me to learn more about myself as a writer. A lot of that was done in the worlds of Anime and roleplaying games.

I love to read, and I have been escaping into books for as long as I can remember. I also love music and sing now and again. Music drives my writing. It's been an escape since childhood the same way reading has for me and the two have saved me from many a lonely childhood night.

Lately, my journal has been more about being a mom than anything but I'm trying really hard to balance it out.
